Part 2 of our Mustangs Classic coverage will take a look at players who stood out this weekend at the guard and wing positions along with a couple of 2021's who played up and played well.
Davian Sanders was good all weekend long for the Mustangs. He was a driving force getting his team to the championship game. Sanders facilitated, scored when he needed to and applied pressure defensively all weekend long.
Evan was arguably the best shooter in the gym this weekend. He shoots the ball with consistency and with deep range. He rarely missed in catch and shoot opportunities. McCarthy also finished well at the basket.
Deaunte was his usual self making three's at a high clip. He showed some serious athleticism this weekend finishing above the rim. Lee plays hard every time he steps on the floor. He is an ultra competitive player who makes shots.
Keller Boothby is a sniper. He is a tremendous shooter off the catch who makes three's all around the stripe. He has a good size at 6'5 and a quick release. Boothby was one of the best shooters in the gym this weekend.
Jakevan did a little bit of everything this weekend. He handled the ball, scored, made jumpers, rebounded and defended at a high level. He is a versatile prospect who plays hard and is really good defensively with his length and athleticism.
Christian is a young prospect playing up in the 17U Division. While raw, he showed flashes of brilliance this weekend. He already has a great body, gets out in transition well, finishes above the rim and has good vision. It is very early in his development but he is definitely one to track.
I got a chance to see Rogers playing up in the NCAA Division this weekend. He is a very good ball handler who shoots it well. He was good in pick and roll this weekend and made plays for himself and others. Another young guy that should be tracked in the coming years.
