Sam Williamson will represent DFW along with Tyrese Maxey in the McDonald's All-American Game. Sam sat down with us to speak about his selection to this prestigious event.
TheTB5Reports: How does it feel to be selected to a prestigious event like the McDonald's All-American Game?
Sam Williamson: It’s an amazing feeling to be selected to the game and it’s something I dreamed of since I was a little kid. My journey was different than a lot of other players that make this game. I was relatively unknown 2 years ago and 3 years ago I was playing freshman basketball... but I just kept working. Coming from the bottom and being unknown and then now being a McDonald’s all American it’s just so rewarding knowing my work has payed off.. but I’m not done yet!!
TheTB5Reports: Of course this is a huge individual honor, who helped you get to this point?
Sam Williamson: So many people have helped me at this point from my parents, to my trainers and coaches and to the voters and media that has voted for me and pushed for me to be selected
TheTB5Reports: What are your goals for the rest of your last HS season?
Sam Williamson:I have one primary goal for this season and that’s to win state.. at this point in time I’m not worried about individual awards I just want to finish my high school career on top !
